The Betty and Barney Hill Alien Abduction

The graphic-novel format of the Paranormal Mysteries series (6 titles) makes an already high-interest topic extremely accessible. This readable volume tracks the strange experience of Betty and Barney Hill, who claimed to have been abducted by aliens while driving near Lincoln, New Hampshire, in 1961. Shaken by their experience and accompanying memory loss, the couple saw a psychiatrist and eventually reported the event to a nearby air force base; when the news ultimately leaked to the newspapers, it became widely debated. With illustrations done in a dark, eerie palette, this reads like a tense piece of fiction; back matter includes a time line, theories (other than aliens) behind the Hills’ experience, and a list of further resources. Conspiracy theorists, Area 51 enthusiasts, and reluctant readers will all have their interest piqued.
